Opening Kickoff

The Titans expect huge things from the third year back and the 2009 NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

Nothing gets better than waking up the first Sunday of the NFL season! Christmas morning comes close but every Sunday is like Christmas. It’s the time of the season where all real men get their ladies out of the house for the day because they might not be too enthused about your attitude and countless “F-Bombs” getting dropped (of course if they love football and will put up with you they are more than welcome).  It’s the time of the year when the adrenaline pumps in and emotions ride like rollercoaster’s. One moment we’re happy as hell, the next we are throwing bottles across the room cussing in anger. It’s the emotion and excitement of the game. Football is America’s Game, and in some people’s eyes football is a way of life. As a Tennessee Titans fan I feel this is a year to be very excited about. In reality the Titans finished 8-8, but that’s one hell of an 8-8 considering we started 0-6. It was Vince Young’s winning ways and Chris Johnson’s million dollar legs that helped spur the team to an 8-2 finish.  Coming into this game week one, quarterback Vince Young is 13-2 in his last fifteen starts which of course is the best winning percentage over the last 15 starts. Also, CJ (Chris Johnson) led the NFL in rushing yards (2,006) and broke the NFL record for total yards from scrimmage in a season. Chris Johnson believes that this year he will rush for a staggering 2,500 yards which would crush the all-time record for rushing yards in a season. Why the hell not I say? Chris is the best running back in the NFL and he is the fastest man in the NFL. He has an ego bigger than the planet but more skill than most the running backs I have ever seen in my lifetime. If you’re that good I am cool with someone being so cocky and confidence. You’re not going to be good if you have no confidence. Right? He loves himself so much that he even has a tattoo of his face on his arm.

The first week of the season the Titans got the Oakland Raiders. I mean let’s get serious, the same Raiders team that was terrible last year and has all sorts of talent issues and personnel issues, a new quarterback, and the same owner that is too old to even know what’s going on . The main thing we have to happen is to get off to a hot start, get CJ the ball and see what our new look defense has got to offer. It’s always a tough division when you got the Colts and Peyton Manning sitting at the top of the division year after year, but their run cannot last forever. The Titan’s have made many moves this offseason letting go of many veteran leaders. It’s sad to say good bye sometimes but it’s time for the youngsters to get their shot and build the chemistry to get a championship caliber team ready to roll. It’s week one but let’s buckle up the chin straps and enjoy one hell of another NFL season. Go Titans!
